What does a typical job cost?
The numbers above are starting points. Every build is different, so here's a handful of real scenarios to give you a better idea of where things usually land. Your job might be simpler or more complex — these are just anchors.
A tradie's single-page site
Everything on one page: who you are, what you do, your service area, a gallery, and a contact form wired to your email. Mobile responsive, SEO set up, hosted on a fast VPS. The classic Starter build.
A café with online menu & booking
Seven pages including a full menu display, photo gallery, opening hours, booking request form, Google Maps embed, and an Instagram feed. Still on the Starter package because there's no database or admin panel.
A small online store
Full e-commerce: 20-40 products, category filters, stock tracking, customer accounts, PayPal checkout, order notifications, an admin panel so the owner adds their own products. Database-backed, fully custom.
A WordPress rebuild
An existing 8-page WordPress site migrated to hand-coded PHP. All content preserved, meta tags migrated for SEO, 301 redirects set up so rankings survive, blog posts transferred, faster than the original overnight.
A custom platform
Directory, marketplace, or community platform with 300+ listings, self-service signup, owner dashboards, search and filters, full local SEO. This is what the Murray Bridge Directory is.
Rebuilds (everything else)
Rebuilds are always priced case-by-case because the cost depends entirely on what's already there. A simple restyle of an existing site starts around A$1,800. A full migration with content preservation, redirects, and SEO carryover sits in the $2,500-$5,000 range. Send me the URL and I'll give you a real number.

Add-ons & extras
Optional extras you can bolt onto any Starter build. Most of these are already included in the Professional package — if you need e-commerce, user accounts, or a full admin panel, you're looking at Professional territory, not add-ons.
Extra pages
Additional custom-coded pages beyond the five included in Starter. Design, responsive layout, linked in the nav, fully styled to match the rest of your site.
Logo design
Custom logo from concept to final files. Two rounds of revisions, delivered as PNG and SVG at every size you'll need across your site, socials, and printed materials.
Simple form handler
A one-table database with a submission form — perfect for a restaurant booking, event RSVP, quote enquiry, or waitlist signup. Submissions email you the details, and the customer gets an optional confirmation.
Domain setup
Register a new .com.au or .com on your behalf, configure DNS records, and point everything at your new site. Includes the first year of registration.
Business email setup
Set up you@yourdomain.com on Google Workspace or similar, configure MX records, migrate your existing email if needed. Ongoing inbox hosting is billed directly by your email provider.
Extra revision rounds
Each additional round of changes beyond the ones included in your package. One consolidated list of feedback per round. Handy if you're still refining the design after the included revisions are used up.
How payment & revisions work
Payment Structure
All projects require a 50% deposit before work begins. The remaining 50% is due upon completion, before the site goes live. Deposits are refundable if you're not happy after the first design draft. See our Refund Policy for details.
What Counts as a Revision Round?
One revision round = one consolidated list of feedback. You review the site, write up everything you'd like changed, and send it through in one go. I action all of it, then send it back. That's one round. Individual back-and-forth messages aren't separate rounds. Only formal batched feedback counts. Revision rounds expire 30 days after the initial build is delivered.
What's Not Included in a Revision?
A revision covers changes to what was agreed in the original scope (layout tweaks, colour changes, rewording text, swapping images). It does not cover adding entirely new pages, new features, or functionality that wasn't part of the original brief. Those are quoted separately.
Do I host your email?
No — email is hosted by Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 (around A$10/user/month, billed directly by them). I handle the setup — that's the A$89 add-on, included free with the Professional package.
What Happens If I Stop Paying for Hosting?
Your website lives on my server, which has real ongoing costs. If you cancel the maintenance plan, your site stays live for 60 days from your last payment. During that time you can either switch to the hosting-only plan (A$49/mo), arrange to move your site to another host (I'll hand over all your code), or do nothing — after 60 days the site comes down. The build fee is non-refundable. You paid for the build, you received the build. Your code is always yours. Full details in our Terms & Conditions.

Quote & Deposit
I'll send you a clear quote with exactly what's included. Once you're happy, you pay the 50% deposit and I get started.
Design & Build
I design and code your website from scratch. You'll see progress along the way and can give feedback before anything goes live.
Review & Revise
Once the build is done, you review everything. I'll action your feedback within your included revision rounds until you're happy with the result.
Final Payment & Launch
You pay the remaining balance, I deploy your site to a VPS, set up your domain, configure SSL, and make sure everything is running perfectly. You're live.
Ongoing Support
Your first 30 days of post-launch support are included. After that, the monthly maintenance plan keeps your site updated, backed up, and secure. You focus on your business while I handle the tech.
Common questions
How long does a website take to build?
A Starter site typically takes 1-2 weeks. Professional builds with databases and e-commerce take 3-5 weeks depending on complexity.
Do I need to buy hosting separately?
No. The Professional plan includes VPS hosting setup, and the monthly maintenance plan covers ongoing hosting costs. For Starter clients, hosting is available through the maintenance plan or the hosting-only option.
Can I update the site myself?
With the Professional plan, you get a custom admin panel to manage your content. For the Starter plan, I handle updates for you as part of the maintenance package (up to 2 per month).
What if I already have a domain?
No problem. I'll configure your existing domain to point to your new website. No extra charge for that.
Do I own the website code?
Yes. Once the project is paid in full, the code is yours. If you ever want to move to a different host or developer, I'll hand over everything. No lock-in.
What if I need something that's not listed here?
